Algenex

Algenex is a Spanish biotechnology company focused on developing disruptive technologies for the production of recombinant proteins, vaccines, and other biologics for animal health, human health, and diagnostic applications. Headquartered in Madrid, the company has developed two proprietary and patented technology platforms, CrisBio® and TopBac®, based on baculovirus expression vector systems using insect cells and insect-based biofactories. This approach enables faster development timelines, improved scalability, and lower production costs compared to conventional bioreactor-based manufacturing methods. Algenex has successfully developed more than 200 molecules with public and private partners and is expanding its activities across vaccines, biologics manufacturing, diagnostics, and alternative protein applications.
